Schaduwlijnen (Shadow Lines), a work by Adrien Tirtiaux, was created in 2014 and is located on the esplanade in front of the Chicago apartment building on Linkeroever. The work captures the movement of the sun and of the shadow lines of the surrounding buildings at different times of the day. The square functions as a giant sundial, with the shadow contours of the buildings being marked.
Tirtiaux involved local residents in the project by inviting them to help mark the shadow lines with chalk. The artist later marked the shadow lines with paint. This interactive aspect of the work highlights both the community and the ever-changing nature of time and space.

The work Heaven and Earth, 2018 consists of two parts: a scenario for the creation of the artwork, and the initial material execution of that scenario. The work is realized by pouring concrete into excavated molds in the earth: the location itself thus becomes the mold for this cast sculpture. The texture of the earth remains visible and becomes a part of the work.
